multicellular organisms need a transport system in order to fulfill the need of each and every cell to continue to perform its metabolic activities. The requirements can be food i.e. glucose, oxygen etc. Transport system is also responsible for transportation of hormones which are very necessary for survival as they regulate various metabolic activities.
