Why should Caste and religious sentiments not be allowed to play an important role in elections in a democracy.

These evoking sentiments shouldn't be allowed to play an important role in democratic elections because:

. Constitution allows secular nature. Means every one should be secular in their own outlook whether election campaigning or worshipping

. To allow development of not only upper castes and single religion people, but of every citizen of the country

. To implement and assert for the human rights provided by country and the UNO.

. To morally do good to everyone irrespective of their caste, creed, religion, sex or nationality.

. To avoid caste wars and religion wars which eventually take form of a civil war

. To avoid civil war which may lead to attack from terrorists or any other nation.

Parties based on caste and religious sentiments may cause unrest among the people and even lead integration. A leader should not stand for a particular religion, caste or region.
