1)THIS LEADS TO THE WASTAGE OF WATER

2)IT ALSO CREATES A CONDITION CALLED WATER LOGGING --THIS CAUSES AIR PARTICLES IN THE SOIL TO ESCAPE AWAY WHICH MAY CAUSE RESPIRATORY PROBLEMS TO THE ROOTS

If excessive water is supplied to the fields, then:

  1. Waterlogging can take place
  2. The air pockets in the soil will be filled with water, so there will be no air for the roots to breathe.

Hope this helps :)
