Why should factory wastes be neutralised before discharging them into water bodies?

because it contains harmful chemical which may pollute freshwater bodies. Factory wastes are neutralized before disposing into water bodies because,factory wastes often contain acid. If it reaches a river,the acid will kill the aquatic life. Thos is prevented by adding a base called slaked line.

these are neutralised because there are many types of toxic material and contain many other harmful chemicals which can harm the life of the animals in the water bodies which can after lead to death.So, before discharging they are neutralised
