If the grains will be moist then they will get spoil by air,fungus,etc. Hence it is necessary to dry grains before storage

Grains should be dried before storage becoz presence of moisture contributes to growth of microbes.Presence of moisture and favourable temperature also contributes the germination of stored seeds.
