Answer:it prevents the loss of moisture from the soil as if surface area is reduced, then evaporation will be reduced and the soil will retain more moisture.  after being ploughed, the soil become loose and could be blown away by wind. so, levelled land prevents loss of upper layer of soil from being blown away
