See, If you add Zn to dilute H2SO4 you produce hydrogen by the reaction
Zn + H2SO4 → ZnSO4 + H2
The Zn has displaced the H2 from the acid. The H2 is produced as a direct result of this double displacement reaction. ZnSO4 is produced.
