Why should the angle between the dipole and the electric field be specifically 180 degrees for unstable equilibrium and not any other angle(excluding 0 degree)?

Remember the formula

U= -pEcos(theta)

Unstable equilibrium means maximum potential energy. HENCE FOR U to be maximum. Theta=180°
