Why should the blood going away from stomach and intestines pass through liver and not directly to heart ?

becuz in liver detoxification occurs..and all breakdown process like gluconeogenesis , glycosylation etc. and fat soluble vitamins are stored in liver like vit. B12 .. vit.A ..vit.D...vit.E..vit.K
