Why should the purchase capacity of consumers be considered while determining price

It is because customers are the one who buy the goods and if they don't have the capacity or ability to buy expensive goods , the goods might be wasted that means we will not get profit without goods being sold. Therefore, purchasing power of customers should be taken into consideration before price fixation of any product.
