Why should the resistance of an ammeter be low or high give reason?

Ammeter is an instrument to measure the electric current in ampire. For getting a correct and accurate value the reistence of rhe ammeter is low. To flow the current more easily. Sometimes the resistence of the ammeter will be high to maintain the potential difference.
