Why should the resistance of an ammeter be very small and a voltmeter be very large?

• Ammeter is a device used to measure the amount of current that flows in a circuit. So probably the resistance in a ammeter should be less so that the amount of current that flows will be higher and the measurements will be accurate.

• An voltmeter has higher resistance, because to reduce the amount of current that flows in a voltmeter. The work of the voltmeter is to measure the voltage in the circuit That is the potential difference across two ends in a circuit.
