"Fruits are a rich source of nutrients. However one of the common methods which reduces the nutritional value of fruits is cutting it into small pieces.
This is because in an uncut fruit, the nutrients inside are not exposed to the atmosphere and hence cannot undergo oxidation.
Another factor is water soluble vitamins are lost via the fluid which evaporates from the cut surface of the cut fruit
