Why should water not be used in case of fires caused due to oil on electricity?​

Since water is more dense than oil, the oil will float on water surface and instead of extinguishing fire, it will spread the fuel further spreading the fire.

Water is also a good conductor of electricity thus if we extinguish fire by short circuits using water, we will get an electric shock.

Thus water should not be used in case of fires caused by oil or electrical equipments.
