Answer:

We should connect electrical appliances in a parallel connection in a household circuit so that all the different electrical appliances have a separate switch to 'on or off' the the current flow.

Also, they are connected in parallel connection, show that each appliance has equal potential difference.

Let us suppose, the electrical appliances are connected in series, then if we switch on one appliance, all the other electrical appliances will automatically start on.

Also, if the electrical appliances are connected in series, the potential difference across every electrical appliance would vary. Thus, making a problem in current flow through the domestic circuit.

______________

The importance components of a domestic electric circuit include -

  • Live wire (Red/Brown)
  • Neutral wire (Black/Blue)
  • Earth wire (Green/Yellow)
  • Fuse
  • Electricity meter
  • Distribution box and main switches

QUESTION -

Why should we connect electric appliances in a parallel in household circuit?

What happens if they are connected in series?

SOLUTION :

We should connect electrical appliances Parallel to ln an electrical circuit due to various reasons.

If they are connected in series and one device gets fused , this may lead to the other devices losing connection and may also lead to the decrease in the functionality of the devices.

Also this increases the load in the circuit.

So,

We should connect electrical appliances Parallel in a household circuit.

Also, is the appliances are connected in series , they will have to be kept on and off at the same time .
