Water is a natural conductor of electricity and if you attempt to put out an electrical fire using water you'll end up electrocuting yourself. There is also a chance that water will act as promoter by spreading the fire to nearby areas.
To put out such fires you may use blankets or the appropriate extinguisher. You may also use some baking soda only if the fire is small.
