Why should we prefer compost and manure over fertilizers?

We should put manure instead of fertilizer because manure is a natural item and it will increase the fertility of soil withou the help of any chemicals. As for the chemiclmany companies put toxic fertilizers in their fertilizers sold in the market that grows the crops faster but the soil losses its natural fertility and can not be used for growing more crops.

compost and manure helps the soil maintain its fertility while fertilizer provide large amounts of nutrition but it doesn't help soil to maintain its fertility.
