Wastes are segregated based on the quality of materials that contain. Some of the waste are biodegradable in nature and hence they can be dumped in the soil so that they are broken down by microorganisms.

Explanation:

  • However non-biodegradable waste should not be dumped in the soil because they take hundreds of years to get broken down.
  • As a result they should be burnt or incinerated. Waste can also be divided whether they are sharp or not.
  • Sharp wastes can cause the problem of punctured wound during disposal or dumping.
