Test for glucose:
In the green leaves of plants, a process called photosynthesis takes place which involves the conversion of "carbon dioxide and water" to glucose and oxygen gas in the presence of sunlight and Chlorophyll.
Although glucose is initially produced, it is immediately produced into starch inside the leaves because of two reasons:
- An enormous amount of glucose is produced which will consume a lot of space but, starch being compact it won’t happen.
- The concentration of glucose within a small area leads to a change in osmotic properties, but starch being compact, this doesn’t happen.
