Shylock, being an extravagant miser, was sure to grief over  his wealth  that has been stolen by his daughter from him when she was fleeing with Lorenzo.

For him, his wealth is first and then comes his daughter! he had fixed Tubal, his friend, to search for his wealth and her rebelled daughter. She is cursing her daughter and he thinks her to be lying dead in front her feet with all the jewelries in her ear so that he might take off. he had mentioned that "The thief went with so much and so much to find the thief"
