because when a person is sick he doesn't have energy to work or he might get more sick so a person is advised to take rest

when a person is sick he might be in infection from some disease so to cure that disease the person is given some medicines on that disease and advised to take rest because the person should not get more infection and medicine will work to cure

Because they got infected or affected with disease & some of the diseases is communicable also...so if some other person comes in contact with him/her then he will also falls sick & the second reason is of because a sick person got weak due to the attack of disease so doctor prescribed him/her take rest!!
