Silver gets tarnished because it gets oxidised due to gases present in atmosphere. It is like that rusting of IRON. Here the main concept is oxidising. I hope this helps you, Thank you.

Heya mate

_______________

Here is the answer ⤵⤵

⏪ Silver reacts with the sulphur gases present in atmosphere to form a layer known as Silver sulphide .

⏪ The reaction is ⤵⤵

Ag ( Silver ) + S ( Sulphur gas from atmosphere) ---------> AgS ( Silver Sulphide)

⏪ This layer of silver sulphide is black in color And hence, silver articles gets tarnished.
