sky is not blue .  It only looks blue due to a human deficiency and unique physiology of our eyes.  Same thing applies to color of oceans and lakes.

So what is color.  The color of a light is defined by physics as presence of a radiation in a certain part of spectrum.   Here are the ranges of frequencies and wavelengths
