A clear afternoon sky appears blue in color, while it looks reddish orange in the evening, why is this so?
Sky appears blue to us because molecules in the air scatter more blue light than red (specifying red because it is the fastest travelling color). At sunset, the sky appears red because the blue light has been scattered all out.

Sky appears blue because the particles of air reflect blue colour when light falls on them. Actually,it depends on the angle at which the rays of the sun strike the particles. That's why it appears reddish orange in the evening.
