Why sky not appear yellow /green when sunlight is between horizon line and overhead (straight)​

The closer the sun gets to the horizon, the longer path does the light take through the thickness of the atmosphere. The longer the path, the more other colors get scattered. But the farther a color is from blue in the spectrum, the more it tends to follow a straight path through the thickness of the atmosphere
