why sliding friction slightly less than static friction

The friction is due to the interlocking of irregularities in the two surfaces. When the object starts sliding the contact points on its surface, do not get enough time to lock into the contact points on the floor. So thesliding friction is slightly less than thestatic friction.

because gravitational force is already acting on it with force of our hand but in static friction there is only our force of hand that's why
