why slope of isothermal is les than adiabatic

To reach a same height in a longer distance means lower slope of the line. Hence Adiabatic curve is more steeper than Isothermal curve. In-fact, the steepness of Adiabatic curve is times steeper than Isothermal curve. ... And Adiabatic curve has a definite value of slope which is greater than 0.

because slope of an adiabat has an additional gamma term (i.e. poisson's ratio) which makes it steeper.
