Why smell of burning of wool and silk is similar

Silk is formed of animal protein secretion of silkworms. Hence , when burnt it smells like hair , which is also composed of animal protein. Cotton is mostly cellulosre and when burnt smell like paper which is also made of plant cellulose.

Beacause silk is made up of synthetic fiber that's why it's smell like a burining of plastic while in other hand wool is made up of protein . so it's also smell like a burning of hair .
