why snow is better heat insulator than ice?​

when the temperature of the atmosphere reaches below zero degree celsius the water vapour present in air freeze directly in the form of minute particles of ice. many particles combine and take cotton like safe which is called snow. snow contents a large number of air pockets which prevent the formation of convection currents. Hence snow acts as a good heat insulator than ice.
