Answer:

the white wash of slaked lime maintains a durable, long lasting colour until it gets water. That's why it is used for white washing. SLAKED LIME REACTS SLOWLY WITH CARBON DIOXIDE IN AIR TO FORM A THIN LAYER OF CALCIUM CARBONATE. THAT IS WHY IT IS USED FOR WHITE WASHING .

Quick Lime is used for white washing. When it is mixed with slaked lime it forms calcium carbonate which is used for shining of walls.Calcium hydroxide is used in whitewashing. Whitewash cures through a reaction with carbon dioxide in the atmosphere to form calcium carbonate in the form of calcite, a reaction known as carbonation.
