Hi dear !!

Sodium have general configuration is

1s , 2s ,2p , 3s1

so due to 1 electron .

it doesn't come to maintain it's stability .

but by loosing it can gain it's stability .

having configuration of

1s ,2s ,2p

having 10 electron .

so it's is a strongest electropositive element .

to gain it's stability .

hope it helps you dear !!!

thanks

The E. C of sodium is 2,8,1 so it's valency is 1 so it loss 1 electron to attain stability thus it is highly electropositive. (Lossing electron the element atain positive charge)
