why soft iron is used as a core of electromagnet in an electric bell. please help dear friends ​

When the switch of an electric doorbell is pressed, current flowing through wire cannot produce a strong magnetic field if core is not used. The soft iron core of electromagnet makes the magnetic field stronger and hence we are able to hear the sound of doorbell.

The soft iron inside the coil makes the magnetic field stronger because it becomes a magnet itself when the current is flowing. Soft iron is used because it loses its magnetism as soon as the current stops flowing. Soft iron is said to form a temporary magnet.
