Why solid cannot be compressed like gases

in gases the particles are freely moving and very far from each other so there is a lot of space between two particles hence we can compress a gas where as in solids particles are arranged tightly there are very negligible space between two particles so we cannot compressed solid

Yes, its absolutely right ,Solid cannot be compressed like gases because solid molecule have very less intramolecular space between them and they are tightly packed in comparison with gases.
