why solid carbon dioxide is known as dry ice ?

Solid CO2 is called dry ice. Because it looks like ice & it is cold like ice. But when it melts it does not becomes as a wet liquid. ... Because carbon dioxidedoes not have any liquid stae that's why the ice formed from it has no liquid molecules in it.
