density =mass/volume....
density is inversely proportional to volume and directly proportional to mass.
that's why not all the solids but those solids whose mass is more have high density....

Often solids have a higher density than liquids because the atoms or molecules are packed more closely in an ordered fashion in the solid. Solids are not always denser than liquids.
