Why solids are rigid?

Because it has tightly packed particles. So it is rigid. It can't be compressed ......

HEY MATE HERE IS YOUR ANSWER:-

it is because the constituent particles in solids are closely packed and the forces of attraction among these particles are very strong he is have fixed positions and can only oscillate about their mean position.
