When alcohols and glucose are mixed with water then they do not dissolve to form ions. Hence they do not show acidic character.

The Solution of alcohol do not show the acidic character:
1) If a solution is acidic, then it has the tendency to release the H⁺ Ions which show the acidic character in the aqueous solution.
2) The aqueous solution of alcohol (C₂H₅OH) won't release any H⁺ ions in the solution, so that's why this does not show any acidic character when this mixed with water.
