✔why some elements show multiple valency??

☣ first of all , what is valency ?

➡although valency is the number of atoms of that substance which can combine with or displace one atom of hydrogen ....

but...,

➡valency is also the number of electrons in the valence shell of an element.

➡so , in some elements, under certain physical or chemical conditions or certain forces, one or two more electrons jump out in he valence shell and so these elements show variable valency.

➡at times, the electrons may jump into the previous shell again so that element acquires original valency.

➡but again the electrons are vulnerable to jump in next shell again.... hence, these elements have variable or multiple valency..

➡examples of elements having multiple or variable valency are :- copper, iron....etc.
