a. New technologies and machines were costly and their maintenance was also expensive which make the producers cautious.

b. The repair was costly if the machines broke down.

c. They were not as effective as claimed by the manufacturers.

d. Labour could be found at low cost easily due to widespread migration of poor peasants.

e. A range of products could be produced by hand only. The demand for hand made clothes with intricate designs had high demand in market than machine made clothes.
