Why some metals are unable to form ionic stable compounds?

because they are made up of ions( + or -) positive ion or cation has a deficiency of electrons so they always tends to gain some electrons to be in stable state and negative ions or anion has extra electrons so they try to lose those extra electrons. so ionic compounds are very reactive in order to get stability.
