Otherwise, it will not be able to carry sufficient oxygen to the body tissues. On cold blooded animals such fishes, amphibians and reptiles the rate of respiration is low. As a result their oxygen demand is also lower. In theseanimals there is partial mixing of oxygenated and deoxygenated blood.
