Usually the plants in glass houses need to be protected from the wind, snow, rain etc. so usually plants that do not belong in that climate, the glass house traps the heat from the sun and creates a micro climate that is warmer than the surrounding area. Places like Las Vegas, that has desert all around, a micro climate of high moisture can be created by spray misting water into the air to protect delicate plants that would wither away from lack of humidity.
