Why do solids generally lack the property of diffusion? Ans: There exists strong intermolecular force of attraction between the atoms of solids, due these forces they bind strongly with each other, effects the diffusion property which is there in gases.

No the solid never diffuses . But it can sublime and also get expend sometime due to temperature.
