Sonalika and kalyan sona are high yielding varieties of wheat developed by IARI. Further they are resistant to diseases.

Answer:

Wheat (Triticum spp.) is an essential crop in India. It is a winter crop which is grown in the North Hills Zone of India . This one produces around 1 million tons of wheat, but the productivity level is low.

To iorove this, new varietis of wheat were intridcues namely Kalyansona and Sonalika. Both these hybrid varieties have better productivity and are also disease resistant. In addition to this, they have high level of tolerance to drought, heat etc.
