Explanation:

Sound cannot travel in vaccum because sound always travels through compression and rarefaction of particles and for this reason it always needs one or the other medium to travel,i.e., it can travel in solids, liquids and gases (which are made up of molecules, which serve as a medium for the sound) but not in vaccum.

ANSWER

Sound waves are mechanical waves. Unlike electromagnetic waves, they require a medium to propagate.

Sound cannot travel through a vacuum. A vacuum is an area without any air, like space. So sound cannot travel through space because there is no matter for the vibrations to work on it.

Sound waves are mechanical waves which require a medium for their propogation
