Yes, Sound Can be defined as a form of energy. But technically Speaking sound is just the propagation of disturbance through a medium. The disturbance here is the back and forth movement of the medium’s particles about a fixed position. The back and forth movement of particles takes place because the medium in a way possess some potential energy. Hence Sound Can more generally be defined as the propagation of energy.
