why sp hybridisation is called diagonal hybridisation??

the ans is. In this type of hybridization, the
2s and only one of the 2p orbitals hybridize forming two equivalent orbital called sp or diagonal orbitals . By observing the structure of a molecule it is possible to predict the state of hybridization of carbon....

In case of sp hybridization 2 new orbitals are formed and form an angle of 180°, which is a straight line that's why it is called diagonal (astraight line between s an p/sp orbitals) This conversation is already closed by Expert
