Second class lever is the type of lever in which load is present in middle ,fulcrum on one end and the effort at the other end.
In spanner , the middle portion acts as the point where the load is placed.
On the other hand the spanner head acts as axis of rotation or fulcrum.
The part where we move the spanner is the point of effort.
Thus we see that in spanner fulcrum is at one end and the load in middle and effort at the other end, hence it is a second class lever.
