Why specific weight of sea water is more than pure water?

Sea water is essentially a mixture ofwater and all the available soluble molecules (natural or otherwise), roughly in proportion to their availability in all the world's rivers. On average, those non-water molecules have a higher density than watermolecules, so the resulting cocktail is denser than pure water.
