Higher the hydration energy of the ions greater is the solubility of the compound in water. ... The solubility of the most of alkali metal halides except those of fluorides decreases on descending the group since the decrease in hydration energy is more than the corresponding decrease in the lattice energy.

hope it's help you..

Answer:

higher the hidration energy of ione is greater in solubility of the compound in water... the solubility of most of alkali metal halides except those of fluroides decreases on decending the group since the decreases in hidration energy more than the corresponding decrease in the lattic energy.
